Impressions of a first time Visitor to Eureka Springs

My First Visit to Eureka Springs, AR

As someone who was born and raised in the most densely populated county in Florida, I had a rather flawed perception of the world. I thought that, apart from a few landscape and climate differences, everywhere around America was pretty much the same as it is in my home state of Florida. After taking my first trip to Eureka Springs, I now realize just how mistaken I was.

SFGate picBeing a 27 year old person who had only been out of his home-state twice (and never within the past decade), I’m delighted to be sharing my unforgettable experience with you. My visit to Eureka Springs has altered my outlook on life entirely, and I’m forever grateful and indebted to this remarkable town and its amazing residents and guests.

The Atmosphere in Eureka Springs

My hometown, St. Petersburg, FL, could be considered to many a somewhat large city. Where I’m from, people are always in a hurry, many are rude, and there is no real sense of community. Eureka Springs is the complete 20130818_131150opposite. To me, Eureka Springs is a place where you can relax, a place where all of your worries, troubles and sorrows are somehow whisked away into the beautiful and peaceful Ozark mountains.

Upon entering Eureka Springs, you can’t help but be mesmerized by the beautiful mountainous scenery, and the abundance of historic Victorian-style architecture is sure to leave you in sheer awe.

The People of Eureka Springs

While I was in Eureka Springs, I was fortunate enough to meet many of the town’s residents and business owners. It was such a pleasant experience to meet and socialize with such kind and hospitable people; I felt as if I was a part of zahner-family-reunion-briarwood-all-seasons-eureka-springs-arkansasthe Eureka Springs family right away. One of the main things I really enjoyed about Eureka Springs is that everywhere I went, I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm hello.

There’s Plenty to do in Eureka Springs

One thing I learned very quickly is that there are no boring days in Eureka Springs. There’s always something fun and interesting to do. Whether you are enjoying the historic downtown district, taking in the great outdoors, pampering yourself in the spa, watching a live show, shopping, or doing something else, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Eureka Springs.

By the way: the restaurants and bars are great, too. I was elated and amazed at how many attractions and activities were available in such a quaint town. I was equally impressed that many of the “things to do” in Eureka Springs are child and family friendly.

See you soon!
